lyrics

The Maple Tree & The Shamrock

There is a great place that I used to know
Where the clover grew wild in the maple tree's throw
On a hot summer's day there we'd take our rest
In the cool, in the shade, we'd look for the best

Running our fingers gently through the grass
The wind would come up and take care of the rest
Guiding us carefully to the place
Where the four leafed clover stood in it's place

That was for Luck, and it stood for Love

Pedaling quickly we'd make our way home
Clutching the clovers, where ever we'd roam
Stopping to borrow from the raspberry bush
Whispering, hiding, and each saying hush

The maple tree's cousins guided us back
We'd return with our treasures that came from this trek
Explorers, adventuring boys we were
But we knew what the Maple Tree & The Shamrock stood for

That was for Luck, and it stood for Love
That was for Luck, and it stood for Love
